Professional Reiki

The Professional Reiki Practitioner Diploma is a route to voluntary registration with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC)

This course is completed over a minimum of 9 months.

What is the PRPD?

​The Professional Reiki Practitioner Diploma is an accredited pathway to voluntary registration with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).

The course is designed to meet the Reiki Core Curriculum for professional practice, and the National Occupational Standards set out to meet the registration requirements.

This course takes your professional practice to the next level and requires you to evidence your practice and be assessed against the national occupational standards and core curriculum.

You will be required to under the core Reiki 1, Reiki 2, and Reiki 2 advanced classes, as well as additional classes and practice sessions.​

The principal aims of the programme are to

  1. To ensure that those who complete the course are safe and competent to practise Reiki as autonomous healthcare practitioners.

  2. Establish levels of practice, learning and professionalism which will educate Reiki students to work as professional practitioners in all settings i.e. private practice, in organisations and care homes including NHS establishments.

  3. Empower Reiki students to develop through personal growth, self-development and reflection.

  4. Be used to determine eligibility to apply for CNHC registration.

Reiki Healing

What do I need to do to complete the programme?

You need to complete a number of taught hours and also engage in self study, and Reiki practice. As well as Reiki 1, Reiki 2 and Reiki 2 advanced you will need to complete additional courses on anatomy and physiology, professional practice skills and practice management. 

You will need to  complete a portfolio which will include following:

 

  • receive 100 hours of Reiki (including self-treatments and receiving Reiki from others)

  • undertake 75 hours of undertaking a Reiki session

  • complete 10 case studies

  • complete an approved assessment

  • reflections on your development as a Reiki practitioner

  • supervised practice sessions

  • observed session as a final assessment by an independent assessor

How long does it take to complete the course?

From starting Reiki 1 there must be a minimum of 9 months study before undertaking the final observed practice and submitting your portfolio
